Napa Valley is an American Viticultural Area in Napa County, California. The area was established by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives on February 27, 1981, after a 1978 petition submitted by the Napa Valley Vintners and the Napa Valley Grape Growers Association.
