10 years in prison for Illinois Planned Parenthood arsonist

Tyler Massengill was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for an arson attack on an Illinois Planned Parenthood clinic.
Massengill used a homemade explosive to start a fire at the clinic shortly after an abortion rights law was passed in Illinois.
The Planned Parenthood clinic was empty at the time, but the judge criticized Massengill for causing fear and stress to patients and staff.
In addition to the prison term, Massengill was ordered to pay $1.45 million in restitution for damages.
The attack came amid increased threats against abortion providers after the overturning of Roe v. Wade.
