• More than 1,000 people descended on downtown Los Angeles late Saturday after an illegal warehouse party promoted online spilled into the streets.
• Groups of vandals spray-painted storefronts, Metro trains and an LAPD cruiser while about 50 individuals blocked trains at Washington Boulevard and Maple Avenue.
• The LAPD’s Newton-area Illegal Party Suppression Unit first detected the gathering and called in multiple bureaus to quell the three-hour melee.
• One officer was treated after being struck in the face with a bottle; no arrests have been made and a vandalism report has been filed.
