Overview

• The 127th annual Ooty Flower Show was inaugurated on May 15, 2025, by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin at the Government Botanical Garden in Udhagamandalam.
• This year's event has been extended to 11 days, running through May 25, to accommodate rising tourist interest and expected large crowds.
• Key attractions include a 70-foot-long castle facade made with over 1.3 lakh flowers and a 75-foot ‘royal castle’ crafted from over two lakh carnations, roses, and chrysanthemums.
• Additional highlights include a ‘divine swan’ created with 50,000 flowers, a flower-adorned throne, and exhibits shaped like animals, musical instruments, and swings.
• Cultural performances at the inauguration featured Bharatanatyam, tribal dances by the Badaga, Toda, and Kota communities, and contributions from the Tibetan community in the Nilgiris.
