13-Year-Old Girl Charged with Murder and Arson in Wellingborough

The victim, believed to be 43-year-old mother-of-three Marta Bednarczyk, was found dead after a house fire early Monday morning.

Police and firefighters responded to a house fire on Newcomen Road, Wellingborough, shortly after 3 a.m. on Monday, where the victim was discovered.
The victim, preliminarily identified as Marta Bednarczyk, 43, died at the scene from sharp force injuries, according to a post-mortem examination.
A 13-year-old girl, whose identity is protected due to her age, has been charged with murder and arson with intent to endanger life.
The girl is scheduled to appear before Northampton Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday morning.
Detective Chief Inspector Johnny Campbell expressed condolences to the victim’s family and commended the investigative efforts of police and staff.
