15-Year-Old Charged with Murder in Fatal Shooting of Chicago Mail Carrier

Teen arrested in Iowa and extradited to Chicago for the July killing of postal worker Octavia Redmond.

Octavia Redmond, a 48-year-old postal worker, was shot multiple times on her mail route in Chicago's West Pullman neighborhood on July 19.
The suspect, a 15-year-old boy, was identified through police and private camera footage, as well as an anonymous tip.
The teen was arrested by Chicago police and U.S. Marshals in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and has been charged with first-degree murder.
Authorities are searching for additional suspects involved in the case and are offering a $250,000 reward for information leading to further arrests.
Redmond, remembered as a beloved community member and mother, had worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 15 years.
