16-Year-Old Killed in Nashville High School Shooting; Shooter Also Dead

A 17-year-old student fatally shot a classmate, injured another, and livestreamed part of the attack before taking his own life.

The shooting occurred in the cafeteria of Antioch High School in Nashville, Tennessee, which serves approximately 2,000 students.
The 17-year-old shooter killed a 16-year-old female student, wounded another student with a graze wound, and then fatally shot himself.
The incident was partially livestreamed by the shooter on an online platform, but the video has since been removed and the account suspended.
Two school police officers were present on campus but were unable to intervene in time to prevent the tragedy.
This marks the first school shooting in the United States in 2025, following a record 83 school shootings in 2024, reigniting debates over gun control policies in the country.
