17-year-old boy charged with murdering 15-year-old London schoolgirl Elianne Andam

Elianne Andam, 15, was fatally stabbed on her way to school in Croydon after intervening between her friend and the friend's ex-boyfriend.
The suspect, a 17-year-old boy known to Andam, stabbed her in the neck with a foot-long knife and was arrested shortly after.
Andam's family described her as "the light of our lives" and community members gathered to honor her at the scene.
The 17-year-old suspect appeared in youth court and was charged with Andam's murder, as well as possession of a knife.
The stabbing has renewed calls for action against knife crime and youth violence in London.
