19-Year-Old Vermont Police Officer Killed, 2 Others Injured During Chase

A 19-year-old police officer, Jessica Ebbighausen, was killed when a burglary suspect collided head-on with her cruiser during a high-speed chase.
Two other officers were injured in the crash and taken to the hospital.
The suspect, Tate Rheaume, 20, is facing charges including grossly negligent operation and attempting to elude with death resulting.
Ebbighausen had recently joined the Rutland Police Department part-time and was scheduled to begin training to become a full-time officer next month.
The chase began after police received a call about Rheaume attempting to break into a residence.
