29 Parties Confirmed for February Bundestag Election

Germany's federal election will feature 29 of the 41 initially approved parties, with varying levels of regional participation.

The Bundestagswahl (federal election) is scheduled to take place on February 23, 2025, with 29 parties officially participating.
Initially, 41 parties were approved by the Federal Electoral Committee, but 12 did not meet all requirements to appear on the ballot.
Major parties, including SPD, Greens, FDP, AfD, Die Linke, and the Bündnis Sahra Wagenknecht, will appear on ballots in all 16 federal states.
The CDU and CSU will maintain their traditional split, with the CDU running outside Bavaria and the CSU exclusively in Bavaria.
Eight smaller parties will only appear on ballots in a single federal state, reflecting their regional focus or limited reach.
