3 sailors rescued after inflatable catamaran attacked by sharks off Australia's northeast coast

Three sailors, two Russian nationals and one French citizen, were rescued in the Coral Sea after their 30-foot inflatable catamaran was damaged by multiple shark attacks.
The Australian Maritime Safety Authority coordinated the rescue in response to a distress beacon, with assistance from a Panamanian ship and aircraft.
The catamaran was en route from Vanuatu to Cairns when the attacks occurred, leaving significant damage to the hulls.
Photos and video showed large sections of the catamaran missing as it took on water.
The rescued sailors were uninjured in the attacks and are expected to arrive in Brisbane on Thursday morning.
