45 Students Hospitalized After Suspected Food Poisoning at Thane School

Police have filed an FIR against the school management and food suppliers following the incident, with food samples sent for examination.

The incident occurred at a private school in Manisha Nagar, Kalwa, Thane, where students fell ill after consuming a mid-day meal.
Initially, 38 students were hospitalized with symptoms of giddiness, nausea, headache, and abdominal pain; the number later rose to 45.
The affected students, aged between 8 and 11 years, were treated at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital and are reported to be in stable condition.
The meal in question included rice, dal, and vegetables, with reports of a stale smell from the dal; food samples have been collected by the FDA for testing.
The Kalwa police have registered an FIR against the school administration and food suppliers under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita section 125 for negligence.
