9th Circuit Court Blocks California's Concealed Firearms Ban

The law, which prohibits carrying concealed firearms in many public places, is criticized for violating the Second Amendment.

A California law banning the carrying of concealed firearms in most public places has been blocked again by the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
The law, which went into effect on January 1, prohibits people from carrying concealed firearms in more than two dozen places, including parks, playgrounds, churches, banks, and zoos.
The ban applies even if a person has a permit that allows them to carry a concealed weapon.
Critics argue that the ban violates the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom, who signed the law, has vowed to continue pushing for stricter gun control regulations.
