Actor Wings Hauser Dies at 78 After Storied 58-Year Career

Known for iconic roles in 'Vice Squad' and 'The Young and the Restless,' Hauser passed away of natural causes at his Los Angeles home on March 15, 2025.

Wings Hauser, born Gerald Dwight Hauser, was a prolific actor with over 100 film and television credits spanning nearly six decades.
He gained fame for his portrayal of the psychopathic pimp Ramrod in the 1982 film 'Vice Squad' and his recurring role as Greg Foster on 'The Young and the Restless.'
Hauser, son of blacklisted Hollywood writer Dwight Hauser, earned an Independent Spirit Award nomination for his performance in 'Tough Guys Don’t Dance.'
At the time of his death, Hauser was collaborating with his wife, Cali Lili Hauser, on a documentary about his life titled 'Working Class Actor.'
He is survived by his wife, Cali Lili Hauser, and two children, including actor Cole Hauser, known for his role in 'Yellowstone.'
