ADAC Reports Over 3.6 Million Panneneinsätze in 2024, Driven by Battery Failures

ADAC responded to over 3.6 million breakdowns across Germany in 2024, a 2.9% increase from 2023, with January being the busiest month.
Battery failures were the leading cause of breakdowns, responsible for 45% of cases, followed by motor and sensor issues at 22%.
The average age of vehicles on German roads has risen to 10.6 years, contributing to the higher frequency of mechanical problems.
Breakdowns involving electric vehicles surged by 46% compared to 2023, with over 43,600 incidents reported, primarily due to battery issues.
Calls from cyclists for assistance also increased by 8%, with flat tires being the most common issue among the 17,000 reported cases.
