Advocacy Groups Urge States to Block Trump From 2024 Ballot Over Jan. 6

Two advocacy groups sent letters urging officials in several states to bar Trump from the 2024 ballot for allegedly inciting the Jan. 6 insurrection.
The groups argue Trump violated the 14th Amendment which states those who engage in insurrection cannot hold office again.
The letters were sent to key election officials in 9 states urging them to use their authority to keep Trump off the ballot.
Some states contacted have declined to comment on whether Trump will be eligible for their 2024 ballots.
Efforts to disqualify Trump over the 14th Amendment are already pending in federal court.
