Amazon's Just Walk Out technology, which allows customers to shop and leave without waiting in line, is now being introduced to hospitals.
The technology is being launched with a new 'badge pay' feature, allowing healthcare staff to pay for items by scanning their employee badges, which are linked to their payroll accounts.
The first hospital to implement this system is St. Joseph’s/Candler Hospital in Savannah, Georgia.
Visitors to the hospital can also shop at the store using their debit or credit cards or mobile wallets.
Amazon plans to expand this system to more healthcare facilities over time.
