This will be Amit Shah’s first visit to J&K after Operation Sindoor.

Overview

  • He will chair a high-level security review meeting with top officials from the Intelligence Bureau, Border Security Force, Central Reserve Police Force and Jammu and Kashmir Police.
  • This marks his first trip to the region after Operation Sindoor, with reviews set to cover anti-terror and anti-infiltration measures ahead of the July 3–August 9 Amarnath Yatra.
  • On May 30, Shah will travel to Poonch to inspect civilian areas hit by Pakistani mortar fire, visit damaged religious sites and meet the next of kin of 13 killed residents.
  • He will address BSF jawans at the Khanetar camp and distribute government job appointment letters to the bereaved families.
  • The National Conference has urged a comprehensive financial package for shelling victims, following the lieutenant governor’s announcement of government jobs for next of kin.
