Amy Schumer was originally set to star in and co-write the “Barbie” movie for Sony Pictures.
Schumer left the project in 2016 due to creative differences over the script not being “feminist and cool” enough.
The “Barbie” movie moved to Warner Bros., with Margot Robbie starring and Greta Gerwig directing.
Schumer applauded the new team behind the film, saying their take seems “very feminist and cool.”
The “Barbie” movie is set to be released on July 21, 2023.
