Contract Negotiations Fail Over Weekend, Union and School Committee Set to Resume Talks

Andover Public Schools remain closed as teacher strike enters its fourth day, affecting approximately 5,500 students.
The Andover Education Association and the School Committee failed to agree on a new contract over the weekend.
The union's proposal of an 18% raise over four years for all teachers was rejected by the School Committee, citing the need for a townwide election to override Proposition 2½ to raise more tax revenue.
