Angel City FC and San Diego Wave FC Open NWSL Season with Fire Relief Collaboration

Angel City FC and San Diego Wave FC will kick off the 2025 NWSL season at BMO Stadium on Sunday, March 16, with a match focused on supporting wildfire recovery efforts.
The 'Seats of Strength' initiative allows fans to purchase tickets for first responders and wildfire-affected families, with Angel City matching every ticket bought.
Both teams will wear 'L.A. Strong' T-shirts during the national anthem as a show of unity and support for the Southern California community.
San Diego Wave FC will feature special San Diego Fire-Rescue Department patches on their jerseys to highlight their partnership with local first responders.
The match will also showcase new players and coaching staff for both teams, including Angel City’s interim head coach Sam Laity and San Diego's former Arsenal manager Jonas Eidevall.
