Appeals Panel Upholds Penalties Against Hamlin for Intentional Wreck

Denny Hamlin's penalties for wrecking Ross Chastain during a NASCAR race last month will remain in place after his appeal was denied.
Hamlin was fined $50,000 and deducted 25 points in the standings for intentionally crashing into Chastain at Phoenix Raceway on March 14.
The National Motorsports Appeals Panel announced Wednesday that it would uphold the penalties levied by NASCAR against Hamlin.
Hamlin can make a final appeal to the National Motorsports Final Appeals Officer.
