Apple confirmed that the flaw had been exploited in highly sophisticated attacks targeting specific individuals before iOS 17.2.
In addition to the security fix, the update addresses a bug that could prevent playback of some streaming content.
Users are advised to check their settings, as the update re-enables Apple Intelligence by default, even if previously disabled.
