Arizona Man Arrested for Decapitating Mother Hours After Jail Release

Alejandro Gonzalez allegedly murdered his mother, Teresa DeJesus Cruz Rubio, after being released from jail and smoking methamphetamine.

Teresa DeJesus Cruz Rubio was found decapitated in her Glendale apartment on September 27, 2024, after missing her surprise birthday party.
Her son, Alejandro David Gonzalez, was arrested and charged with first-degree premeditated murder and theft of means of transportation.
Gonzalez had been released from jail just 24 hours before the murder and was living with his mother.
He admitted to using methamphetamine and initially claimed another man was involved in the crime, but police found no evidence to support this.
Gonzalez is being held in Maricopa County Jail on a $1 million cash-only bond, while the investigation continues.
