Australian Hero Craig Laidley Found Dead After Bali Rescue

Laidley, 56, drowned after saving a German tourist caught in extreme waves at Balian Beach.

Laidley was swept out to sea on Wednesday while rescuing 29-year-old German tourist Micro Stalla.
His body was discovered Friday morning at Secret Bay Beach, about one kilometer from the incident site.
The search was conducted by a team of 10 from the Denpasar Search and Rescue Office, hampered by dangerous sea conditions.
Witnesses reported that Balian Beach is known for its hazardous conditions, yet lacks warning signs for tourists.
Laidley, originally from Perth, was living in Bali and is remembered fondly by friends and family for his selflessness.
