  • Babar Azam's resignation comes after Pakistan's performance in the World Cup, where they won four of their nine games, finishing fifth.
  • The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has also removed the entire coaching staff of the men's team, with a new coaching team to be put in place for the upcoming tour of Australia and New Zealand.
  • Babar Azam, who is ranked by the ICC as a top-five batsman in all three formats, will continue to represent Pakistan as a player.
