Overview

  • A Heat Advisory runs from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday across the North Bay, East Bay, South Bay, Santa Cruz Mountains and parts of the Central Coast.
  • Inland communities such as Brentwood and Discovery Bay could reach up to 106°F, while a shallow marine layer keeps coastal zones comparatively cool.
  • Outdoor workers, older adults, unhoused residents, pets and livestock face elevated risk of heat-related illness without adequate cooling or hydration.
  • Light winds will limit extreme fire behavior but low relative humidity and parched vegetation will keep fire danger high through Saturday.
  • A gradual cooldown is expected Sunday, with temperatures returning to near or below seasonal averages by early next week.
