The attack was inadvertently filmed by a family who were recording a video of their toddler on the beach.
Bynens lost a leg in the attack and could not be saved, despite efforts by emergency responders.
A woman was also attacked in the same area just minutes before Bynens, but her injuries were not life-threatening.
Following the incident, the local government has temporarily closed the beach and is implementing new safety measures to warn tourists about potential dangers.
