Berlin District Parliament to Vote on Naming Square After Harald Juhnke

The proposal, backed by a cross-party coalition, aims to honor the entertainer on the 20th anniversary of his death.

The Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district parliament is set to discuss and vote on the proposal on Thursday, March 20, 2025.
The square at the intersection of Kurfürstendamm, Uhlandstraße, and Grolmanstraße is the proposed location for the tribute.
Harald Juhnke, a Berlin native, had a five-decade career in theater and television and is considered one of Germany's greatest entertainers.
The proposal is supported by CDU, Greens, SPD, and FDP, aiming to commemorate Juhnke's legacy near the Ku'damm stages where he often performed.
A similar 2022 initiative to rename Joachimsthaler Platz after Juhnke failed to gain majority support.
