Biden Meeting with Widodo to Strengthen Nearly 75-Year-Long Partnership Between World's Second and Third Largest Democracies Ahead of APEC Summit

This meeting aims to reaffirm the United States' commitment to deepen their nearly 75-year-long partnership with Indonesia, the world's second and third largest democracies respectively.
This important diplomatic event will take place just before President Biden's trip to San Francisco to participate in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit.
The two leaders had previously engaged in discussions at the Group of 20 summit in New Delhi in September, and President Biden visited Indonesia during the previous year's G-20 summit.
Indonesia's support for Palestine, as expressed by President Widodo, does not appear to waver and could potentially be part of the discussions during this meeting.
