Blue Jackets Dismiss Coach Brad Larsen After Two Seasons Without Playoffs

Brad Larsen was fired as head coach of the Columbus Blue Jackets after failing to lead the team to the playoffs in his two seasons at the helm.
The Blue Jackets finished with the worst record in the Eastern Conference this season at 25-48-9.
Larsen still had one year remaining on his three-year contract but general manager Jarmo Kekalainen said a change was "absolutely necessary."
Goaltending coach Manny Legace will also not return to the Blue Jackets next season after five years with the club.
The Blue Jackets now begin searching for their second head coach in three seasons.
