Blue Origin Announces First All-Female Space Crew Featuring Katy Perry and Gayle King
The historic mission, led by Lauren Sánchez, will launch this spring as part of Blue Origin's New Shepard program.
- The six-member crew includes Katy Perry, Gayle King, Lauren Sánchez, Aisha Bowe, Amanda Nguyen, and Kerianne Flynn.
- This marks the first all-female spaceflight since 1963, when Soviet cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova flew solo into space.
- The mission, scheduled for spring 2025, will last approximately 11 minutes and take the crew beyond the Kármán line, the boundary of space.
- Lauren Sánchez, Jeff Bezos' fiancée, assembled and will lead the team, aiming to inspire future generations through storytelling and exploration.
- Blue Origin's reusable New Shepard rocket will autonomously carry the crew, offering them moments of weightlessness and views of Earth.
