Boston Bruins Trade Charlie Coyle to Colorado Avalanche in Multi-Asset Deal

The Bruins acquire Casey Mittelstadt, prospect Will Zellers, and a conditional draft pick in exchange for the veteran forward.

The Boston Bruins traded forward Charlie Coyle to the Colorado Avalanche just before the NHL trade deadline on Friday.
In return, the Bruins received center Casey Mittelstadt, 18-year-old prospect Will Zellers, and a conditional second-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft.
Coyle, 33, has 22 points this season but set career highs last season with 25 goals and 60 points; he has played 931 NHL games in his career.
Mittelstadt, 26, has 34 points this season and was previously acquired by Colorado from Buffalo; he is signed for two more years at $5.75 million per season.
Will Zellers, a third-round pick in 2024, has shown offensive promise with 58 points in 40 games in the USHL this season.
