The Miami Heat barely edged out the Detroit Pistons 103-102 in their season opener. Miami’s victory was led by Bam Adebayo’s 22 points and double-doubles from both Jimmy Butler and Kevin Love.
The Detroit Pistons staged a strong rally in the last quarter, missing four straight potential go-ahead shots over the final 1:04. The Heat's victory followed a similar pattern from last season, when 14 of their games were decided by three points or fewer.
