Boy Saves Sister from Kidnapper Using Slingshot

An 8-year-old Michigan girl escaped an attempted kidnapping when her 13-year-old brother used a slingshot to strike the attacker.
The accused assailant, a 17-year-old, has been charged with attempted kidnapping/child enticement, attempted assault to do great bodily harm less than murder, and assault and battery.
The girl was in her backyard when the attacker came out of the woods, grabbed her and covered her mouth.
The teenager had visible wounds from the slingshot and was arrested based on a family member's description of the suspect.
The incident occurred in the city of Alpena and the accused was arrested by Michigan State Police.
