Breanna Stewart Undergoes Minor Knee Surgery Ahead of Liberty’s Title Defense

The two-time WNBA MVP is expected to recover in time for training camp following a right meniscus procedure.

Breanna Stewart, a two-time WNBA MVP and New York Liberty star, underwent a minor knee scope on her right meniscus on March 13, 2025.
The procedure was successful, and Stewart is expected to return to the court in time for the Liberty's training camp, which begins on April 27.
Stewart shared an Instagram update from the hospital, expressing gratitude to her team and doctor while hinting at retiring her signature leg sleeve.
The surgery follows Stewart's offseason participation in Unrivaled, a 3-on-3 basketball league she co-founded, where she experienced a dip in performance compared to her usual dominance.
Stewart led the Liberty to their first WNBA championship last season, marking her third career title, and also secured her third Olympic gold medal at the 2024 Paris Games.
