Bremen Court Hears Closing Arguments in €8.2 Million Theft Case

The defendant, a former money transport employee, has expressed deep remorse for the 2021 heist and faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.

The 32-year-old defendant admitted to stealing €8.2 million in cash from a Bremen money transport company in May 2021, a crime captured on security cameras.
She fled to Turkey after the theft, but turned herself in nearly three years later in March 2024 and has been in custody since.
The defendant claimed she acted under pressure from her best friend and the friend's partner, who allegedly orchestrated the crime and took most of the stolen money.
The theft involved concealing cash in a paper recycling container, which was later retrieved by accomplices waiting outside the facility.
The trial, initially expected to conclude earlier, is now set to resume on December 16, when a verdict is anticipated.
