British Couple Tragically Swept Away by Flash Floods in Majorca

Sarah Thompson and Alexander Barrett were hiking in the Tramuntana mountains when the sudden storm struck.

Sarah Thompson, 26, and Alexander Barrett, 32, were hiking in Majorca on September 3 when they were caught in a flash flood.
The bodies of Thompson and Barrett were recovered by Spanish authorities on September 4 and September 6, respectively.
Both were remembered fondly by friends and former colleagues in Stockport, where they lived and worked.
The Good Rebel bar and Awesome Walls climbing gym paid heartfelt tributes to the couple on social media.
A memorial service for the couple is scheduled to be held on Sunday in Stockport’s Woodbank and Vernon Park.
