  • The accident occurred on the Falzarego intermediate red run near Cortina d’Ampezzo, a popular skiing destination in northern Italy.
  • Witnesses reported the boy gained excessive speed after hitting a dip on the slope, causing him to lose control and crash into a tree.
  • Emergency responders attempted to revive the teen for 30 minutes using a defibrillator, but he succumbed to traumatic chest injuries at the scene.
  • The boy was on a half-term holiday with his parents and other families, who were present during the incident and are now receiving psychological support.
