Broadway Box Office Receipts Surge After Tony Wins

Several Broadway shows saw their ticket sales increase substantially after being honored at the Tony Awards ceremony.
"Leopoldstadt" and "Kimberly Akimbo" had their grosses boosted by over 30% from the previous week after winning multiple Tony Awards.
Overall Broadway ticket sales were up 6% for the week, likely due both to recovery from poor air quality and the spotlight of the Tony Awards.
Though nominated shows generally saw improved sales, "A Beautiful Noise" had an 11% drop in grosses following its Tony Awards performance.
"Life of Pi" will end its run in July after struggling to find an audience despite Tony nominations.
