Brothers Sentenced to Prison for Violent Assault on Berlin Hospital Staff

Two brothers attacked medical staff on New Year’s Day 2024 after refusing to wait for treatment, resulting in injuries and prison sentences without probation.

The attack occurred at the Sana Klinikum in Berlin-Lichtenberg when the brothers demanded immediate treatment for a hand injury sustained during a New Year's celebration.
A 26-year-old was sentenced to 18 months in prison, while his 22-year-old brother received a two-year, four-month youth sentence, factoring in a prior conviction.
The victims included a doctor, who suffered a cut to his eyebrow, and a nurse, who sustained a concussion after being shoved into a wall.
The court deemed the attack unjustifiable, with the brothers admitting to their actions but attributing them to alcohol and heightened emotions.
A third brother, aged 17, was also implicated but is currently missing, with authorities suspecting he may have fled to Serbia.
