- Zaslav's speech was interrupted by shouts of "pay your writers" in support of striking Hollywood writers.
- The WGA thanked the protesting students for their support during Zaslav's commencement address.
- Around 350 demonstrators picketed outside in support of the WGA and other labor unions during the commencement ceremony.
