Buffalo Bills kicker Tyler Bass received online threats after missing a game-tying field goal in a playoff loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Following the incident, Bass deleted his social media accounts.
Ten Lives Club, a non-profit cat adoption agency in Western New York, rallied behind Bass, calling him a “Cat Dad” and a friend of the organization.
The organization initiated a donation campaign in Bass' name, asking for donations of $22, a reference to Bass' jersey number.
As of Tuesday evening, the Ten Lives Club had raised more than $155,000, with donations coming in from all kinds of football fans.
