Caeleb Dressel struggles in return after Olympic triumph, fails to qualify for world championships

Dressel finished 29th in the 100-meter freestyle preliminaries and failed to qualify for the world championships in the event he won at last year's Olympics.

However, Dressel's results were encouraging given his long layoff, and he has two more chances to qualify for worlds in the 100 fly and 50 free.
Dressel's teammates and rivals are rooting for him to make the U.S. team for worlds, acknowledging his importance to the team.
