California Mother Charged with Murder of 11-Year-Old Son After Disneyland Visit

Saritha Ramaraju, 48, has been charged with murder and weapon enhancement after allegedly slitting the throat of her 11-year-old son, Yatin Ramaraju, in a Santa Ana hotel room.
The murder occurred on March 19, 2025, during a custody visit, following a three-day trip to Disneyland with her son.
Ramaraju reportedly called 911 to confess to the killing and attempted suicide by ingesting pills but survived and was later arrested after being discharged from the hospital.
Authorities found a large kitchen knife at the scene, which Ramaraju had purchased the day before, and Yatin’s body was discovered surrounded by Disneyland souvenirs.
Ramaraju is being held without bail and faces up to 26 years to life in prison if convicted, with her next court appearance scheduled for April 17, 2025.
