Carolyne Bryant Donham, Woman Whose Accusations Led to Emmett Till's Lynching in 1955, Dead at 88

Carolyn Bryant Donham, the white woman involved in the Emmett Till lynching, has died at age 88.
Donham had been accused of setting off the 1955 lynching of the 14-year-old Till.
In 2017, historian Timothy B. Tyson revealed that Bryant admitted to perjuring herself during the trial, making Till's conduct sound more threatening.
Evidence indicates a woman identified Till to her then-husband Roy Bryant and his half-brother J.W. Milam, who killed the teenager.
Till's death was a flashpoint for the civil rights movement in America and his story is still taught in schools today.
