Cat Food Recalled Over Bird Flu Contamination Risk

Wild Coast Raw has recalled its Frozen Boneless Free Range Chicken Formula for cats due to potential contamination with Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) H5N1, also known as bird flu.
The affected products, sold in Washington and Oregon, come in 16- and 24-ounce packages with specific lot numbers and a best-by date of December 2025.
The recall follows testing by state agriculture departments that confirmed the presence of H5N1 in both the cat food and infected cats, with one pet death reported.
Pet owners are urged to discard the recalled products, avoid feeding them to pets, and monitor their animals for symptoms of bird flu such as fever, lethargy, and respiratory or neurological issues.
Consumers can return the recalled products to the place of purchase for a full refund and are advised to follow hygiene precautions when handling raw pet food.
