CBI Arrests Power Grid Official and KEC Executive in ₹2.4 Lakh Bribery Case
Uday Kumar and Suman Singh were caught red-handed during a bribe exchange as part of an ongoing investigation into corruption in public-private dealings.
- Uday Kumar, Senior General Manager at Power Grid Corporation of India, and Suman Singh, Deputy General Manager at KEC International, were arrested on March 20, 2025, during a bribe exchange in Sikar, Rajasthan.
- The bribe of ₹2.4 lakh was allegedly paid to secure undue favors in processing and approving bills related to contracts awarded to KEC International by Power Grid Corporation.
- The CBI has registered a case against six individuals, including three other executives from KEC International, named as co-accused in the First Information Report (FIR).
- Raids conducted by the CBI at locations in Sikar, Jaipur, and Mohali have led to the recovery of incriminating documents and digital evidence.
- The investigation is ongoing, with further arrests and legal actions anticipated as the CBI examines seized evidence.
