CBS to Air Season 2 of 'Yellowstone' Following Successful Ratings for Season 1

Season 2 set to premiere on Oct. 29, following 21.6 million viewers tuning in for at least one episode of Season 1 and helping CBS manage its strike-afflicted schedule.

  • CBS will air Season 2 of the Western drama series 'Yellowstone' starting on Oct. 29, following successful ratings of Season 1 which attracted 21.6 million viewers.
  • The series debuted on CBS' basic cable sibling, Paramount Network, and has since been added to CBS' lineup to manage its strike-afflicted schedule.
  • According to CBS, 52% of the viewers for 'Yellowstone' on the network are new to the series, having not seen any episode in the past year on either linear or streaming.
  • The series, set on the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States, has continually been the most-watched entertainment show on Sunday nights since its CBS premiere on Sept. 17.
  • Amid a writers' and actors' strike that affected CBS' schedule, airing 'Yellowstone' proved beneficial for keeping CBS' programming slate viable.
