Doctors expect Brown's injuries to heal in time for him to return for the start of the playoffs next week.
While the injury will keep Brown from competing in the regular season finale, Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla said he has no concerns about Brown's availability for the postseason.
The Celtics will also be without Marcus Smart against the Hawks on Friday due to a neck spasm, though the team anticipates both players will be healthy for the playoffs.
